How to prevent yoga injuries on a mat?
Lately, we are observing plenty of emphasis put on the yoga anatomy primarily to know the functionality of human body and the muscle movement during each posture. If a yoga practitioner wants to go ahead, and for modern yogis Yoga can act as a good support to improve each posture by learning muscle function and behavior along with getting strength and flexibility, which is hardly seen now a days due to the current lifestyle.
However, very few are talking in depth when it comes to biomechanics, as how our joints and skeleton system works in relation to the muscles and their movements too. Undoubtedly, we all have the same number of muscles, joints and bones unless someone is born with less or more out of any deficiency or genetic conditions. Nevertheless, we all definitely have structural differences, which vary in number of ways and decide how your movement is going to look like in certain posture.
We all have structural limitations and on the top of that, heat of ego while depicting someone else in yoga postures on mat may lead to severe musculoskeletal injuries eventually leading to leave the mat and months of bed rest.
We try to avoid such injuries in our rehabilitation yoga training, we know what is more important to all our yogis and how our training to can help them avoid such injuries. We do not make them move their muscles in an acute position from the beginning. Our trainers give them sufficient time to learn and understand each yoga pose and adapt with it until they are ready to do it on their own.
No matter how flexible your body is, it is not necessary that you will be able to perform all the postures on your own. If you want to try anything new, you must always go to an expert who can help you learn things in a better way.
